How to Handle Money by Kia Commodore, financial expert and founder of from Pennies to Pounds is a must read guide to money for young people.
It is an outstandingly simply written but comprehensive guide to every aspect of money you need to know and is such a useful book. It is jammed full of practical tips and real owrld examples and it makes such sense.
It is such a shame this stuff isn’t taught in school because it is life skills info every young person needs.
It starts very simply explaining what a budget is and moves on to discuss more complex ideas such as mortgages and interest rates, understanding a payslip and issues with borrowing and debt. The clarity and explanations are so good I know a whole raft of adults who could do with reading this!
Finance can be so full of jargon can’t it!
You are never too young to learn about money and whilst this book is aimed at 11 years and up kids who get pocket money or are gifted money form 8 years up could well do with reading this.
It makes a great gift alongside a crisp £5 note for Christmas!
