The term random act of kindness was came about in 1982. It was a phrase used by a woman called by a writer called Anne Herbert, who wrote a book called random Acts of Kindess filled with stories of people being kind, She said we should commit random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty.
A random act of kindness is when you do something kind for someone unexpectedly and for no other reason than to be kind.
Random Acts of Kindness Ideas for Kids -The science bit
Scientists have found that when we do a good deed for others, our brains release a “feel good” hormone called oxytocin – sometimes called the love hormone. Other feel good chemicals are also released include Dopamine (which give us a feeling of a euphoria) and serotonin (which boost our mood)
Dr. IsHak a professor of psychiatry who has studied the effect of kindness on our brains. Say “The rewards of acts of kindness are many,” says . “They help us feel better and they help those who receive them. We’re building better selves and better communities at the same time.”
